OXFORD, Ohio -
Miami University sophomore Laura Neufarth has been featured in Sports Illustrated `Faces in the Crowd' in the publication's Nov. 16 issue.

Neufarth, a product of Centerville, Ohio, was recognized by SI after winning the first six races of the 2007 season, capping that streak off with the individual title at the Mid-American Conference Championships on Oct. 27 in Mount Pleasant, Mich.

The sophomore later finished fifth at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional Championships in Bloomington, Ind. before ending in 82nd place at the NCAA Championship Meet on Nov. 19 in Terre Haute, Ind.

Neufarth is the second RedHawk cross country runner to be featured as a `Face in the Crowd' by Sports Illustrated this fall. Pat Sovacool, a junior on the MU men's squad was honored on Oct. 22.

The RedHawk women finished third in the MAC Championship and eighth as a team at the regional meet.
