OXFORD, Ohio - The Miami University women's track and field team travels to the Billy Hayes Invitational on the campus of Indiana University on Friday as a final tune-up before next weekend's MAC Championships at Bowling Green.

Friday's events begin at 3 p.m. in Bloomington, Ind.

Come next weekend, the RedHawks are capable of scoring in nearly every event at the MAC Championships.

Margarita Pogorelov is ranked second in the 100 meters and eighth in the 200 meters. Betsy Allen ranks sixth in the 400-meter dash, while Amanda Mirochna ranks third in the 1500 and seventh in the 800 meters.

Laura Neufarth ranks first in the 10,000 meters and third in the 5,000 meters. Jessica DeWitt is slated in eighth place in the 3,000-meter steeplechase.

DeLana Turner and Alexis Lape rank fifth and sixth in the 100-meter hurdles, respectively, and fourth and third in the 400-meter hurdles. Andrea Tepe and Julia Dempster rank sixth and seventh, respectively, in the 400-meter hurdles.

The RedHawks' 4X400-meter relay team sits in third while the 4X100 team ranks seventh.

Kristina Bolterstein ranks first in the high jump with a season-best of 5-10 3/4. Katelyn Kelly ranks third with a best of 5-7.
 

 

Nicki Mitchell ranks second in the heptathlon with a season-best score of 4706. She also ranks seventh in the long jump. Britney Bernardoni sits in eighth position in the pole vault with a best of 11-7 ¾.

Fellow participating teams at the Billy Hayes Invitational include Indiana, Eastern Illinois, Ball State, Western Michigan, and Indiana State.
