RedHawks Compete at Stan Lyons Invitational

INDIANAPOLIS - The Miami University women's track and field team competed at the Stan Lyons Invitational on Saturday in Indianapolis, Ind., posting several impressive results heading into the home-stretch of the season. Jennie Stoll won the 3000 meters with a time of 10:28.89, while Jessica DeWitt was second at 10:40.33. Amanda Mirochna took fourth in the 800-meters with a personal best of 2:13.75. Ruth Rasch finished the 400-meter dash in 59.15, good for fifth place. DeLana Turner was third in the 100-meter hurdles at 14.15, while Andrea Tepe took fifth in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 64.32. The 4X100-meter relay team of Betsy Allen, Margarita Pogorelov, Alexis Lape and Turner won the event with a time of 47.69, while the 4X400 team of Lape, Tepe, Pogorelov and Allen won with a season-best time of 4:03.54. Kristina Bolterstein moved her season-best mark up to 5-10 in the high jump, winning the event, while Cara May and Katelyn Kelly were third at 5-5.
Hope Alexander was third in the triple jump at 36-4 ¾, while Nicki Mitchell took fourth with a mark of 36-4 ¼. The RedHawks will next travel to the Jesse Owens Classic at Ohio State University next weekend. |
