COASTAL CAROLINA, S.C. - Miami University's Nicki Mitchell sits in first place with 2722 points after Thursday's four events of the heptathlon at the Coastal Carolina Shamrock Invitational in Coastal Carolina, S.C.

A sophomore from Lake Forest, Ill., Mitchell cleared 5-5 in the high jump and finished the 100 meter dash in 16.54 seconds. She hit a mark of 34-0 shot put, while finishing the 200 meter dash in 26.84.

The Shamrock Invitational, including the three remaining events of the heptathlon, continues Friday in Coastal Carolina.
