BUDAPEST, Hungary - The Miami University senior synchronized skating team sits in seventh place after day one of the World Synchronized Skating Championships at the Papp László Sportaréna in Budapest, Hungary.

The RedHawks earned a segment score of 64.28 in Friday's short program, which places them just behind the other United States' team, the Haydenettes, who scored 66.82. Team Surprise, from Sweden, sits in first place with a mark of 74.72.

The final portion of the competition, the free skate, will take place on Saturday.
