Mount Pleasant, Mich. - Despite getting two goals from freshman Lindi Bortnik (Hudson, Ohio/Hudson), the Miami University (2-14, 0-9 Mid-American) field hockey team dropped its fourth-straight game this afternoon by a 4-2 count at Central Michigan. The RedHawks were out shot 22-3 and received only three penalty corner's to CMU's 19.

Bortnik gave the RedHawks a 1-0 lead with her third goal of the season at 13:01 in the first half. Assisting Bortnik's goal was senior Julie Nelson (Bethesda, Md.).

The Chippewas rallied on their home field, however, by running off four unanswered goals to take a 4-1 lead. Three of CMU's goals were in the first stanza, the first two scored by Michelle Fogle and the third by Allison Foland. Notching the Chippewas fourth goal was Kristy Reed.

The Red and White made it a 4-2 game when Bortnik notched her team-leading fourth goal of the season late in the second period. Nelson was credited with the assist again.

Sophomore Kerri Orr (San Diego, Calif.) made 13 saves in the contest to bring her season mark to 154 saves, which should rank her in the top five in the nation. CMU used three goalies in its 13th victory of the season.

Miami wraps up its regular season next weekend at Louisville on Saturday, Nov. 2.
