OXFORD, Ohio - The Miami University men's cross country team has earned three spots on the Academic All-Mid-American Conference team, tying Eastern Michigan University for the conference lead.

Two MU Academic All-MAC honorees were also first-team All-MAC performers, as Pat Sovacool and Michael Veatch combined their efforts on the trails with great work in the classroom. Paul Krebs, another RedHawk honoree, finished 28th at the MAC Championships, helping the RedHawks to a second place team finish.

Sovacool, a junior from Lakewood, Ohio, earns his second straight Academic All-MAC award in as many years after finishing fourth at the MAC Championships at Central Michigan University on Oct. 27. A Zoology (Pre-Dentistry) major, Sovacool has a 3.57 grade point average.

Veatch, a native of Middletown, Ohio, finished seventh at the MAC Championships and maintains a 3.39 grade point average as a senior Physical Education major.

Krebs, a product of Kettering, Ohio, is a Zoology (Pre-Med) major and has a 3.97 grade point average as a sophomore.

The RedHawks will next run at the NCAA Regionals at Indiana University on Saturday, Nov. 10.
