BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - In their final tune up before next week's Mid-American Conference Championships at Bowling Green, the Miami men's track and field team competed at the Billy Hayes Invitational on the campus of Indiana University on Friday.

Jake Kuhner won the pole vault, clearing 15-11, while Chris Skaggs tied for fourth, clearing 15-3.

Paul Krebs took second in the 3,000 meter run, ending in 8:31.73, while Matt Carney took fourth at 8:47.92. Justinn Eddie took eighth in the 400-meter dash with a time of 48.53. Ryan Dezso finished fourth in the 1500-meter run, ending in 3:59.22.

Josh Rees took fifth in the long jump with a mark of 21-11 ½.

Adam Ruiz finished fifth in the shot put with a throw of 48-6 ¼. John Gausmann took sixth in the discus at 159-10. Dan Beach was 10th in the hammer throw with a mark of 173-10.

The RedHawk 4X100 relay team took third place with a time of 42.17.

The MAC Championships begin on Thursday in Bowling Green, Ohio and run through Saturday. Admission to the meet is free of charge.
