CLEVELAND--Two Miami University junior baseball players earned Second-Team All-Mid-American Conference honors. Tommy Nurre (Cincinnati, Ohio/St. Xavier) earned All-MAC honors at first base, while shortstop Jordan Petraitis (Canal Fulton, Ohio/Manchester) was an at-large selection.

Nurre and Petraitis finished the season ranked in eight combined statistical categories in Mid-American Conference-only play. Nurre was the conference's top hitter, posting a .444 batting average in MAC-only contests, while also ranking first in on-base percentage (.512), and doubles (.63 2B/G). Nurre ranked second in hits (1.78 h/g), slugging percentage (.796), total bases (3.19 tb/g) and fourth in RBIs (1.15 RBIs/G). Petraitis ranked second in MAC-only games in triples (.15 3B/G), third in on-base percentage (.474) and was tied for 15th in batting average (.365).

Additionally, Nurre set the Miami single-season record for doubles with 22. Petraitis also broke onto several Miami charts. Petraitis' 19 doubles in 2008 rank third on Miami's single-season doubles list, while his 41 career doubles tie for eighth place. Petraitis also moved into ninth place on the career hits chart (210) and is tied for tenth place on Miami's single-season and career triples lists.

This was the second all-league honor for Petraitis, who was a first-team selection in 2007. It marked the first all-conference accolade for Nurre.
