Why the Red and White Club?

Q. Why should I join the Red and White Club?
A. The Red and White Club supports all aspects of the athletic department. In particular, we take pride in helping deserving student-athletes achieve great things both on and off the field of play. Your membership and contribution will ensure Miami student-athletes succeed at the highest levels.

Q. I prefer to make my annual donation at the end of the year for tax purposes, can I donate in December and still receive benefits for an entire year, rather than one month?
A. The Red and White Club is instituting a new membership program designed to accommodate those who wish to give at a preferred time of year. For example, you may give during the month of June and won’t receive your renewal notice until the following June.

Q. Why do I need a membership card?
A. The Red and White Club instituted the membership card in 2000 to assist us in admitting members to events. Please display your card at each event for discounted admittance.

Q. If I contribute to a facility project, will that be counted for Red and White Club membership?
A. No, such gifts are not counted toward Red and White Club member- ship. Facility and endowment gifts are considered special gifts, and are above and beyond annual Red and White Club membership. The athletic department relies on annual gifts to the Red and White Club, and therefore asks that you continue your annual gifts to this Club.

Q. Can I contribute to a particular sport, or does my gift go to a general athletic department fund?
A. The need for unrestricted donations is great due to the size and scope of our athletic program. We ask that you first consider a gift to the unrestricted Red and White account, but you may direct your gift to any program in our athletic department.

Q. I live in California, and value the tax benefit of my donation more than parking and ticket privileges. Can I waive the benefits, and receive a full tax deduction?
A. Your membership in the Red and White Club is now 100 percent tax deductible.
