What Is An Endowment?

Endowments provide infinite support to the athletic department and serve as a secure source of scholarship income. Once established, endowments can offer a lasting tribute in honor or in memory of family, friends, teammates or coaches.

The principle is invested and the income from the fund is used to award scholarships to our student-athletes or for operational costs of the athletic department or varsity team, based on the award criteria specified by the donor(s).

How do I contribute to Miami's athletic endowment program?

A minimum of $25,000 is required to establish an endowment and a gift of approximately $400,000 will fully fund an in-state scholarship. Payments may be made over an agreed time period and in the form of cash, stocks, bequest or trust.

Contributions in any amount can be made to one of Miami's 65 existing endowments. Click here for a list of existing endowments
